Hi!

Ready for a adventure? I am!

I am not quite sure what I am doing, but I am ready to jump in head first and try this out. I have thought about starting a blog for years, I get through the first few steps, but then never commit. I’m ready to dive deeper into the unknown and give it a shot.

After quite a few employment changes over the past decade, each one has left me with the yearning to do what I love. I love being creative, albeit in a very wide variety of ways. This is what continually leads me to the never-ending debate of which form of creativity to pursue…and then I don’t pursue any of them…and then I find yet another job that leaves me feeling empty and bored. I often dream of being able to wake up each day, do what I love, make a living at it, and end the day feeling refreshed and fulfilled. This is a struggle that is not uncommon to most of us. It is the ever existing debate of, “What do you want to be when you grow up?” This question has rattled around in my head for years. While I never quite feel like I’m a grown-up, I am now gaining more and more insight into myself, and realize that my answer to that question as a small child still holds true. I remember back to a time when I wore Strawberry Shortcake footie-pajamas and would say “I want to be an artist when I grow up.” (A few years down the road I also wanted to be a race-car driver, but that’s a whole other story.) I never really gave much thought to pursuing my passion in life as a way of making a living, I always thought it wasn’t possible. Flash forward many years and I now realize that it is possible. While I strive daily to not live with any regrets, this is one thing that I slightly regret. I do cherish the past experiences I have, but now is the time. Now is the time to throw it all out there and do what I love. I’m ready. Even if it doesn’t work out as a means to making a living, I am at least able to get my creativity flowing again. It has been sitting on a self collecting dust for way too long.
